Light the Night at Léman Raises $2,000 for Downtown Alliance’s “Back to Business” Grant Program

Following the New York Stock Exchange Christmas tree lighting last week, we headed down Broad Street to Léman Manhattan’s ballroom and found ourselves immersed in holiday cheer. The school partnered with the FiDi Association to host Light the Night – an evening of family-friendly festivities, including a massive book fair, silent auction and crafts. Léman’s choir set the mood with some spirited carols while students, parents, and neighbors perused through all of the available goodies. Author Lenae Madonna was in attendance signing her latest book Lost and Found: A Book About Diversity, and our favorite chef, Jenny Gensterblum, was signing her cookbook Secret Sauce! A silent auction – with generous gifts from Tiffany & Co., Bobby Van’s Steakhouse, Downtown Cellars and Maiden Lane Dental, among others – generated $2,000 for Downtown Alliance’s “Back to Business” grant program. Guests were also treated to yummy snacks and hot chocolate from La Maison du Chocolat. All in all, it was a fun-filled holiday evening for a great cause!
