Last week, Léman Manhattan Preparatory School hosted Manhattan Media’s inaugural "Downtown ‘Our Town Thank You’ (OTTY) Awards 2012: Downtowners of the Year,” along with our friends at 20 Pine the Collection and 75 Wall Atop Andaz. Held in Léman’s breathtaking ballroom lined with impressive pillars and exquisite marble tiles, the downtown OTTY awards celebrates individuals who have made it their obligation to making downtown Manhattan a better place to live, play and work and we are proud to announce that among the 15 winners Manhattan Media honored, four of these remarkable honorees are our clients! Hundred Stories’ client winners included Derrick Komorowki, building manager at TF Cornerstone Inc.’s 2 Gold Street for his commitment to the neighborhood; Jenny Gensterblum, Chef at Léman Manhattan Preparatory School for her efforts to better the health of young people; Ben and Joe Hakimian, co-founders of The Hakimian Organization, developer of 75 Wall Atop Andaz for their commitment to improving the Financial District; and Tamir Kazaz, CEO of Africa Israel USA, developer of 20 Pine the Collection for his preservation efforts of the Financial District’s landmark architecture.
Other winners included Downtowner of the Year and District 1 Council Member Margaret Chin; Liz Berger, president of the Downtown Alliance; and Officer James Rudolph of Transit District 2 – a hero who was among the first responders on 9/11. Thank you to all of New York City's finest downtowners and their continued support, not just for making this area the cultural, educational, commercial and residential epicenter it is today but also with all your Post Sandy rebuilding efforts. We're so proud to have gotten to know some of you.
