Fashion for a Cause at Léman Manhattan

Walking into Léman Manhattan Preparatory School last night immediately put us in the giggly mood that could only be induced by a couple glasses of Moet & Chandon. The gigantic room was the perfect venue for such a special event. Léman has earned its place in FiDi, this school has brought a community together in the way that only a school could, and hosts special events that encourage those beyond the reach of children and their parents to get involved. The fabulous event at 41 Broad Street, celebrated the work that Stand Up for Fashion, or STUFF, has done and continues to do for the fashion industry. There were tall, dark and handsome men waiting for guests to arrive with a concoction of champagne and Fragoli (a wonderful liqueur with mini strawberries!). After taking a flute of this heavenly drink, guests mingled, took pictures in front of the step and repeat (adorned with the hosting companies logos: TumblrSephoraahalifeCheekiPerrier, Chandon, Fragoli, and Stuff Stand Up for Fashion), and inevitably wandered over to the pyramid of cupcakes from I Am Cupcakes.   Founder of STUFF, Yomi Abiola, strives to create solutions for issues such as ensuring fair and equal pay, safe workplaces, women’s health, self-esteem, diversity, and environmental sustainability. Yomi, who is a model and activist, presented the audience with a compelling narrative about Stand Up For Fashion, leaving us all feeling like we could really make a difference! Way to go Yomi!
